Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and COMPANY_LEGAL_NAME ("we", "us") for the Kalemio app and this website. Using the app means you accept them.
What the service does
The app transcribes audio from a video you provide, generates captions, and renders an export on your device. Automatic transcription is never perfect; you are expected to review the transcript before publishing.
Your content
Your video, audio and captions stay yours. You grant us only the narrow permission needed to process the audio you submit and return a transcript to you. That permission ends when the audio is deleted.
You must have the right to the media you upload, and you must not submit recordings of people who have not agreed to be recorded where their agreement is required.
Acceptable use
- No unlawful content, and no content that infringes someone else's rights.
- No attempts to break, overload, or reverse-engineer the service, and no automated resale of transcription capacity.
- No abuse of the free export through repeated accounts or tampered devices.
- No harassment of our support team.
Subscriptions, minutes and payment
- The Creator plan is US$7.99/month or US$69.99/year, including 90 source-video minutes per subscription month.
- Monthly minutes reset each period and do not roll over.
- Extra minute packs are US$4.99 for 60 minutes and do not expire while the account is active.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in your App Store account settings.
- Prices vary by storefront and may change; we will tell you before a change affects a renewal.
Free export
Each account gets one free watermark-free export of up to 90 seconds of source video. We use device integrity checks to stop this being farmed, and we may refuse it where abuse is evident.
Refunds
Purchases are made through the App Store, so refunds are handled by Apple under their policy. Contact us first: if the service failed, we would rather fix it or credit minutes.
Availability
We aim for a reliable service but do not promise uninterrupted processing. Jobs are queued, so a temporary outage usually delays a transcript rather than losing it. Planned changes that would remove a feature you paid for will be announced in advance.
Beta and pre-release access
TestFlight and beta builds are provided as-is, may change or break, and may have lower limits. Feedback you send us may be used to improve the product; we will not publish your name or content without asking.
Our intellectual property
The app, this website, the Kalemio name, and our models and templates remain ours. Captions you produce with them are yours to use commercially.
Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided without warranties beyond those your local law requires and that cannot be excluded. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost revenue from a caption error you published without reviewing.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using the app and delete your data at any time. We may suspend an account that abuses the service or breaks these terms, and will explain why where we can.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of GOVERNING_LAW, without prejudice to consumer rights you have where you live.
